Booking Conditions 2024
For 2024 bookings, a non-refundable deposit of £350 per person, per course week is required at the time of booking. Final payment is eight weeks before the start of your holiday. Bookings made within eight weeks of the start of your holiday must be accompanied with payment in full.
Cancellations must be advised in writing by letter or by email. It is the policy of L’Age Baston Limited to try to re-book your place as soon as we are advised of a cancellation. If L’Age Baston Limited is successful, your payment will be refunded less your deposit. If we discount your course place to re-book, we will refund the discounted price less your deposit. L’Age Baston Ltd reserves the right to retain all or part of the full payment.
If L’Age Baston Ltd has to cancel the holiday because of Covid 19 travel restrictions, we will offer an alternative date to be agreed. Should the Guest be unable to accept the new date, L’Age Baston will refund your payment, less your deposit and £50 per booking administration charge.
INSURANCE
As a condition of booking and for your own protection, please take out full holiday insurance cover for flights and accommodation and personal belongings, public liability, medical cover. Include repatriation to your home country, personal accident, loss or damage to property, cancellation, or curtailment of the holiday due to extenuating circumstances, personal liability, legal expenses etc. It is recommended that you include Covid 19 insurance.
VACCINATION
It is the responsibility of guests to ensure they comply with the rules of vaccination status at the time of their travel.
TAX DE SEJOUR
We now must charge you a Tax de sejour at the end of your stay. We will collect this tax on behalf of the local Tourist Office. It will need to be paid by each guest in euros. In 2023 the charges varied from 0.20 euros to 1.50 euros per night. We have not yet been rated so do not know how much our guests will have to pay. The money is used by the local officials to fund tourism in this area.
CHANGE OF TUTOR/GUIDE
Should there be a change in the advertised programme of tutors, due to illness or any other circumstance, L’Age Baston Limited will notify you as soon as possible.
SWIMMING POOL
L’Age Baston Ltd, the owner and their agents accept no liability or responsibility whatsoever for any accident in its properties, their grounds or swimming pools.
SMOKING
Smoking is not allowed in any of the buildings. If you smoke outside, please make sure all cigarette butts are cleared away.
FORCE MAJEURE
L’Age Baston Ltd is unable to pay compensation for cancellation or changes to the contract or to any changes caused or affected by force majeure including war, threat of war, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disasters, fire or adverse weather conditions or any other similar events beyond L’Age Baston Limited’s control.

Painting:
Please bring your own paints, brushes, paper, and canvas. Easels, boards, and stools are available for you to use. We do have a small supply of art materials in the studio, but if you need fresh supplies, there is an art shop in Angoulême.
French Country Cooking:
Strong, non-slip, comfortable shoes when working in the kitchen.
